Recipe: Homemade Mango Frooti

The blaring summers are here, with a spell or two of rains in-between (and I sound like a weather girl!). Jokes apart, it’s hot as hell, and we need to do every possible thing to beat the heat.

Here’s a refreshing drink to help cool yourself in this cruel heat.

Ingredients:

  • Raw Mango- 1
  • Mango (Ready-to-eat)- 2
  • Sugar- To taste
  • Lemon Juice- 1/2

Method:

  1. Pressure cook the washed raw and ready mangoes together, 2-3 whistles should be sufficient. Let it cool.
  2. Take out the pulp and churn it in the mixie along with the water used during pressure cooking.
  3. Add water for the consistency and sugar to your taste.
  4. Add juice of half a lemon, again, you can tune this to your taste.
  5. Cool and Serve Chilled!

This will Yield about one litre.

  1. Having one prepared by yourself is way better than the chemically laden mango drink available in the shelves. I have been having mango smoothie for years but that’s not been pressure cooked. Will try out this method too! Thanks for the recipe
